The people are courteous, friendly and speak very good English.
It is incredibly beautiful, and clean and neat.
It is steeped in history. The building we stayed in last night was 600 years old.
No beggars.
The beer comes in 500ml and litre bottles.
The food is good. Great seafood.
The vast majority of drivers are careful and considerate.
The prices are reasonable, except wine in restaurants is expensive.
The weather is good - touch wood.
The tap water is good to drink.
There is fast free Internet in budget accommodation.
They don't build garish monstrosities on the coastline.
The natural vegetation is pristine, with masses of wild flowers of many varieties.
