Ten things I've learned - Ian.

10 things I've learnt after one week in the saddle.

What comes down, always goes up.
Ten kilometers is ten kilometers, sometimes more but never less.
The map is invariably correct; don't fight it.
Stretching is good.
Chamois (butt) cream is essential.
You are never at the top until you're going downhill.
Tail winds are good, but a fart stays with you.
Time does not matter, so look around.
It takes a liter of of beer to rehydrate after a 6 hour ride.
Sit back and enjoy the ride; things don't get better.
